For each artma event, the Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy team at Children’s Hospital Colorado, coordinates an art project with kids in treatment in the Pediatric Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. For our 2026 event, 20 kids, teens, and young adults participated by creating a drawing of their personal protector or fighter – someone or something that helps them stay strong, brave, and hopeful, complete with a name and a description of what makes them special. Then, an artist from Glass Artists of Colorado transformed the two-dimensional drawing into a three-dimensional glass sculpture.

Each of these priceless, one-of-a-kind glass art sculptures will be available for purchase at artma 2026.
