Craig is a working graphic designer and fine artist with his studio located in the 40West Arts District in west Denver. When he’s not working on client projects, he dedicates some of his free time expressing his love for art through a variety of different mediums. He enjoys illustration, printmaking and acrylic painting. Seven years ago Craig picked up the paint brush, something not touched since college, and has produced a number of painting series. Using a limited color palette, he interprets architectural forms into hard-line, abstracted paintings with playful compositions of light and shadow, shape and balance. This painting is from a recent series, reinterpreting the theme “what light from yonder window breaks”, a famous quote from Shakespeare’s play Romeo & Juliet. Suggesting a source of light from beyond the painting’s edge that illuminates in the shadows, this moody color palette pays homage to the evening light of the moon.
