James drew so many trees over the years of treatment as he was coping with memory loss and other side effects of his treatment. In the end, the drawing of the trees was his safe place, his version of a protector. The tree symbolizes a lot to James – even when a tree loses its leaves in the winter, they come back – a renewal. Much like getting better after cancer. James wants other kids to have hope- and he sees The Morgan Adams Foundation giving that hope to so many children.
