Why Chili, Booze & Brews Exists
Formerly known as Zach’s Chili Challenge, this event was started in honor of a young man named Zach who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008. Zach’s cancer returned twice and ultimately claimed his life in September 2021. Despite being in treatment throughout high school and college, Zach graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Northern Colorado in May 2021. Zach’s aunt, Michelle Giancamilli, created the inaugural Zach’s Chili Challenge event in 2017 and we continue the tradition in loving memory of Zach and in honor of his strength and resilience.
