26″ x 21″, original photo by the late and famous photographer Hal D. Gould, The photo captures one of the typical Bristlecone Pine Trees on Mt. Goliath (on the road to Mt Evans (now re-named “Blue Sky”) which are often several hundred years old, bent sideways by fierce winds, looking dead on the wind and ice-exposed side, but very much alive in a portion of the tree stump and major branch. There is a trail through these old Bristlecone trees that is maintained by the Arapaho Forest Service and Denver Botanic Gardens.
