Living on the Colorado high plains in Aurora, Colorado, I get much of my inspiration on my daily walks. Fusing art and science in the well established tradition of botanical illustration while adding contemporary elements allows me to express myself artistically but remain dedicated to the science of botanical illustration.
I received my Botanical Illustration certificate from the School of Botanical Arts and Illustrations at the Denver Botanic Gardens in 2012.most of my current work uses printmaking as my medium of choice. I like to make a subtle statement by using color palettes of nature. I use chine colle’ a technique that adds papers to my print. I choose papers with organic textures with bits of organic fibers such as Mulberry and Koso papers. Each pulled print is hand inked and hand colired, making each print a one of a kind.
