As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be an artist. As a child, a brand-new box of Crayola crayons and my coloring book were all I needed to keep myself content.
I started my formal education at the University of Northern Colorado. While there, I spent time in Italy studying art as part of my college education. After college, I began a teaching career in art and spent over 30 years in the profession. While teaching, I continued my art education at Rhode Island School of Design, where I earned my master’s degree.
At the beginning of 2019, I began painting full-time, and now I am dedicated solely to my art. From 2019 until now, I have participated in many fine art festivals, exhibits, and feature artist invitations. I am honored to have received various awards and opportunities during this time. I have recently gone back to teaching workshops and classes during my festival off-season. My choice of medium is acrylic paint on canvas. My art is focused on a colorist palette, with a representational- abstract art style. My use of color and design exemplifies this in my paintings. The beauty of Mother Nature inspires my current subject matter. My home state of Colorado often inspires my landscapes, although I have been known to sneak across the Colorado border into New Mexico and Wyoming for inspiration as well.
