Sarah Hess is a Rhode Island based artist and art educator with a passion for a variety of different craft mediums. Sarah’s latest work includes colorful, botanical block prints.
Her collection of block prints are inspired by the American Arts & Crafts movement as well as vintage botanical illustrations. Each print is created from a block that Sarah has designed and hand carved. The block is then inked, and hand pressed to create a print.
Sarah holds an MA in art education and undergraduate degrees in Art Education and Studio Ceramics.
In addition to her art making, Sarah works as an Art teacher and Adjunct Art Faculty member at Rhode Island College.
Sarah lives in Barrington, RI, and is happiest when creating and spending time exploring the natural world with her husband and their young daughter.
