I am utterly enchanted by encaustic painting — in all its many iterations and approaches. Like so many, I was initially drawn to encaustic because of the tactile and translucent qualities of beeswax. The smell, the mold-ability, and the layering allowing for building, scraping, and revealing are all so exciting. I’ve always been drawn to art that makes me smile and love a strong graphic approach. I sometimes paint whimsical characters, sometimes abstract shapes, but always exploring voice, tone, and palette. My studio is in EASEL which is convenient because EASEL is also the home to NKollectiv Gallery, where I am a member. EASEL/NKollectiv is in Downtown Englewood, CO.
