My art is a response to years of independent study in numerous mediums and a desire to create complex surfaces that incorporate multiple layers of color, contrast, shape, visual and physical texture. The process is an intuitive,dynamic adventure where I guide cold wax and oil paint through a continuous interplay using various techniques,mediums and even some tools I find in nature. Revealing parts of the underpainting in each piece in random fashion leads to continuous new beginnings until the final composition begins to take shape. I imagine my audience taking a moment to embrace a feeling or create their own story in my work.
