Laura Brenton is a contemporary abstract painter whose inspiration comes from the unexpected. Influenced by her background in dance, she approaches painting with a strong sense of movement. She is drawn to non-representational work for the freedom it gives both artist and viewer to discover meaning beyond imagery.
Using brushes, squeegees, her hands, and unconventional tools, Brenton creates expressive paintings marked by bold color, dynamic line, and a sense of movement. Collaboration is also central to her practice - she has worked alongside musicians and dancers in live, improvisational settings.
Brenton’s work has been featured in Denver Life Magazine, Boulder Lifestyle Magazine, Canvas Rebel, Boulder Travel, and the book Creative Sanity. She has exhibited her work internationally and throughout Colorado.
