While I have been artist in one medium or another my whole life, I settled into art quilting in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown. Previously, I had been a metalsmith/jewerly artist for many years, doing a lot of the juried art fairs here in Colorado. I grew up sewing, so working with fabric was not new to me. I love the tactile sense and the textures that are inherent in this medium and my fabric collages use the many of the same design skills that metalsmithing does. My patterns for my works are usually hand drawn by me from a photograph I took, as photography is another love of mine. A lot of my work reflects my love for nature and animals and my love of color.
