I started exploring my creativity after my then 17-month-old son was diagnosed with a very rare form of blood cancer. In the throes of his diagnosis, treatment and then relapse, I was engulfed with grief and pain. I needed to find an outlet to sustain my mental and emotional health.
In the most difficult of times, art has saved me. In every sense of the word. It has become an escape, a necessity for healing and self-care. Creativity allows me to channel my mind into a different world – a place of calmness and peace. My pieces are whimsical and colorful, and represent what healing looks like for me.
Most of my work is a mixed media combination of illustration work and the use of paper or collage.
I hope my creative work brings your day a splash of color, whimsy, and joy as they do to me.
