Colin D. Young’s landscape and nightscape photography documents his travels across NY state and national parks across the U.S., as well as Canada, Iceland and locally in his new home in Colorado, with a special focus on the Red Rock Canyonlands of Southern Utah, the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, and the natural areas of Upstate New York. Colin founded Rock Light Photo Tours, leading photography tours and intensive photo workshops in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, as well as Arches, Canyonlands and Bryce Canyon National Parks in Utah, and a variety of national parks across the Western U.S., with a recent emphasis on teaching students how to photograph the night sky. He sells his work at juried art festivals and galleries throughout Colorado and Utah. Colin is also an award-winning lighting designer, with more than 30 years of professional experience lighting for theatre, dance, television and corporate events, in venues from off-off Broadway to Carnegie Hall, and for some of the best regional theaters across the country. His lighting has graced local stages such as Curious Theatre and BETC, as well as his own drama desk nominated Off-Broadway theatre company Reverie Productions, where he produced 18 New York, U.S. and World Premieres of new plays.
