Beth Lindsay’s paintings are spirited, playful and joyful. She sees life in shapes and colors. Gathering inspiration from ordinary objects such as buildings, bodies, gardens, vistas and far off aerial views, Beth begins each painting with a sketch using charcoal, crayon and pencil. She then applies layer after layer of acrylic paint, often finishing with oil sticks and pastels. Working to solve the puzzle and create colors and shapes that dance, move, and get along playfully and amicably, Beth uses scrapers, sticks, brushes and blades to interrupt the layers, revealing sweet and often unexpected hidden gems.
Beth lives in Evergreen, CO and is represented by Vail Village Arts in Vail, CO.
