Quiet Conversations is made from stitched paper and textile fragments that are layered, cut, and resewn into small, quilt-like constructions. Rather than paper and pencil, these compositions reflect the way I draw — intuitive responses to a theme or feeling, made with found objects and meaningful scraps from everyday life. I work on them throughout the day and often carry them in my pockets, allowing them to be weathered by and reflective of the time in which they are made. Each piece is meant to hold its own place while also contributing to something larger than itself, much like being human. Oil and cold wax with mixed media sewn constructions, 28 1/8 x 28 1/8″.
